Black Eye Gallery – Tom Evangelidis: Facade

  • Artspace Level 1, Stand L1.10 (map)

Black Eye Gallery presents Facade by Tom Evangelidis. This collection of photographs is a celebration of the eclectic architectural styles that sit awkwardly side-by-side in cities around the world. It is a journey through some of the modern world's most beautiful, decayed and original structures, and reflects our fascination with the art of architecture and the passing of historical trends and influences.

Evangelidis is a Sydney-based photographer who has travelled the world to pursue his passion for architecture. Previous exhibitions include, Prague Architectural Portraits (1999), Casa Particular (2003) and Lost in Hanoi (2004), which document the diversity of architectural styles in the Czech Republic, Cuba and Vietnam. His publication Facade is the culmination of all three exhibitions plus four additional photographic journeys through Russia, Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria. Facade has shown at the Brisbane Powerhouse and Queensland Centre of Photography (2010).
